WebApr 6, 2024 · Unable to use the taskbar search bar in server 2016 or hitting the windows key and typing to search. This wouldn't be a huge problem except this is an RDP server and therefore the function not being there effects the users. Ive tried updates, restarting the search service, rebuilding the search index. Nothing seems to work. WebAug 31, 2016 · For example in terminal I type sudo apt-get update and after pressing enter, it asks for password. I type password but nothing appears in the terminal. Whatever i type it don't get typed in case of password. And for each command it asks for password. Any Solution for this? This is how it works. The password is not echoed even with stars.

WebDec 22, 2024 · The solution was to type reset < Enter >. Turns out it can be an issue for any shell program (cmd, git bash, etc), not necessarily just a Git Bash issue. It looks like Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Z can occasionally result in the terminal not echoing commands to the screen, depending on what process was running at the time it was killed.
