WebSep 4, 2014 · I never shank wedges but have always had a recurring shanking problem with the mid to long irons. I tend to roll on the way back on the longer clubs and atack too far from the inside with a flip action closing the face at impact causing the shank. With the wedges I try to have quiet hands and cut across slightly and never shank them at all.
